Proximal Attachment:

Superficial head - Flexor retinaculum and tubercles of scaphoid and trapezium

Deep head - Flexor retinaculum and tubercles of scaphoid and trapezium

Distal Attachment:

Superficial head - Lateral side of base of proximal phalanx of thumb

Deep head - Lateral side of base of proximal phalanx of thumb

Innervation:

Superficial head - Recurrent branch of median nerve (C₈, T₁)

Deep head - Deep branch of ulnar nerve (C₈, T₁)

Main Action(s):

Superficial head - Flexes thumb

Deep head - Flexes thumb
